Your payment to RCBC covers the seminar fee only. Separate arrangements for local lodging is up to you. We have arranged a moderate group rate with block reservations at an excellent hotel located a short drive from the conference center and suggest that you stay there. The special seminar rate for the hotel is $79 per room per night and includes: lodging and full breakfast. Each room is really a 2 room suite with 2 double beds and a couch that can be opened into another double bed. There are also limited kitchen facilities including stovetop and small refrigerator. Please call at least 2 weeks before the seminar and identify yourself as a seminar participant in order to receive our special discounted rate.

Saturday Evening

The afternoon session will end with our entire panel of speakers assembled to respond to questions from the audience. Then there will be about a 30 minute break while everyone gets a chance to make their last bids in the Silent Auction and to get their last tickets for the raffle items. During that time the dinner committee will complete preparation and setting up for a buffet dinner for all participants. After the break the raffle drawings will be done and the silent auction successful bidders will be announced. With these events completed everyone will be invited to the dinner tables.

Right after dinner we expect to have 2 or 3 additional but brief talks which will be presented by students from the Texas A & M School of Veterinary Medicine. We will also have some special recognition events in celebration of ten years of successful South Texas Avian Symposiums.

Sunday Morning Activities (9 am - 12 Noon)

Sunday Afternoon Activity (1 pm - 3 pm)

  • Small group tours of the Texas A&M School of Veterinary Medicine with veterinary students as guides.
